Simplifying Workflow Safety Through Animation for a National Electricals Manufacturer

1. The Premise

V-Guard Industries Limited, one of India’s most trusted names in the wires, cables, and electrical appliances sector, operates multiple large-scale manufacturing facilities across the country. In early 2022, the company’s House Wiring Division in Coimbatore initiated a project to strengthen their internal safety communication around workflow management under their Suraksha 360 initiative.

To bring this vision to life, V-Guard engaged CORE-EHS to create a custom animated video that would explain workflow changes and safety enhancements in a clear, visual, and engaging format.

2. The Challenges

The Suraksha 360 program was undergoing workflow revisions that needed internal alignment across teams, roles, and shifts. Key communication hurdles included:

• Low engagement with static communication formats, like posters and PowerPoints.
• Teams reported less than 50% recall of recently introduced procedural changes.
• Managers found it difficult to consistently explain the rationale and sequence of new workflows across daily toolboxes.
• Multiple roles (operators, maintenance, supervisors) needed role-specific orientation in minimal time.

The goal was to deliver a single, clear animated video that could cut across language and attention barriers, ensuring rapid understanding and compliance.

3. The Solution

CORE-EHS developed a custom 2D animation video tailored to V-Guard’s internal workflow revision plan for the Suraksha 360 initiative.

Key Deliverables:

• Concise 2–3 minute animated explainer video on updated workflow steps
• Visually represented key changes: workflow sequencing, roles, and checkpoints
• Voice-over narration layered with on-screen highlights to boost information retention
• Developed using V-Guard branding and safety visual cues to improve familiarity
• Delivered in MP4 format, deployable across digital screens, mobile devices, and internal safety hubs

4. Resulting Benefits

Despite being a compact engagement, the animated video generated measurable improvements in internal process adoption:

• Awareness of workflow changes improved by 72%, based on internal knowledge checks
• Induction/training time per team reduced by 35%
• 100% rollout compliance achieved across affected departments within 5 working days
• The animation was re-used in 4 other safety sessions, creating a multiplier effect without additional cost
