Boosting Electrical Safety Awareness Through Microlearning Animation

1. The Premise

DEE Fabricom India Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certified company, operates across critical industrial fabrication, module assembly, and EPC domains. In early 2021, the Health and Safety team recognized a recurring challenge: the need to quickly educate employees and contractors on basic electrical safety protocols—without relying on lengthy, resource-heavy training formats.

DEE Fabricom partnered with CORE-EHS to develop a concise and interactive e-learning animation module. The requirement: a one-hour, certificate-based digital safety training session, tailored for frontline personnel.

2. The Challenges

Despite having structured SOPs in place, DEE Fabricom faced:

• Low engagement in traditional classroom training, especially among shift workers.
• Knowledge retention rates below 55% in safety audits involving electrical hazard awareness.
• Increasing demand for remote and repeatable e-learning formats post-COVID restrictions.
• A need to scale training delivery across locations without trainer dependency.

Safety leaders needed a cost-effective yet highly visual training module that could run independently, with certification validation at the end.

3. The Solution

CORE-EHS designed and delivered a 1-hour Basic Electrical Safety Training module, featuring animated scenarios, interactive sequences, and multilingual audio options.

Key Features:

• High-resolution 2D/3D animation of electrical hazard scenarios, including short circuits, overloaded circuits, faulty grounding, and PPE violations.
• Narrated walkthroughs of do’s and don’ts in real-life maintenance tasks.
• Chapter-based learning, with quizzes at 20-minute intervals and a final knowledge check.
• Completion-based certificate generation integrated into the module.
• Delivered as a standalone SCORM-compatible package—easy to deploy on any LMS.

This lightweight training asset was built and delivered within 10 working days, ensuring minimal downtime in training rollout.

4. Resulting Benefits

Even though the order covered just two licenses, the pilot module helped DEE Fabricom test and validate e-learning adoption with promising outcomes:

• Training time reduced by 60% compared to in-person sessions.
• Post-training assessment scores improved by 42%, indicating stronger understanding.
